The House of the Rising Spade is a place built for your imagination: an esoteric realm full of mysteries built for cartomancers, cardists, magicians, collectors, dreamers, and card enthusiasts. It is simply one of the most incredible sets we have ever seen, and from an artistic standpoint, quite possibly the best. We consider this set, consisting of the Room17, Cartomancer, and Faro editions, to be essential for any collector of fine playing cards.

The tuck boxes were all printed by Oath Playing Cards (Lotrek) for the highest possible quality. They feature premium matte stock (red/black/white), gold hot foil stamping, secondary hot foil stamping (black/white), embossing, and inner printing, in other words, pretty much every special feature that tuck boxes can have. If that wasn't enough, the Room 17 tuck box acts as a "codex", being covered in symbols which can be translated to reveal a story involving some of the characters from the cards. If you puchase this set from us and would like some assistance with translating the symbols, we will gladly assist.

The Cartomancer (black) version is the "collector" edition. Printed by Cartamundi with their True Linen B9 finish, these cards feature gold cold foil on the backs and borders for incredible luxury, as well as the awesome ace of spades and jokers. The pips are custom in both design and layout, favoring a minimalist style for both. The artwork for the jokers and court cards is simply magical. Each one belongs in an art gallery, and it is humbling to hold them in your hand and gaze at the amazing details contained therein.

The Faro (white) version is the "players" edition, although it is still very much a collectible as well. Printed by the USPCC with the Classic Linen finish, these cards feature gold metallic inks for a beautiful shine. The pips are even more minimalist than the Cartomancer version, hearkening back to the way playing cards were produced in the 1800s. The court cards have the same gorgeous artwork as the Cartomancer, but with standard white borders.
