SPLAY is a collection of card flourishes compiled by Dan and Dave during their early studies of sleight of hand with playing cards back in the late 90s. At that time, Cardistry did not exist. There were only a small amount of these so-called “card flourishes” in print, scattered throughout various rare instructional magic books. This is a collection of some of Dan and Dave’s early findings in a single book, findings which ultimately led to the development of Cardistry.
Only 100 of these deluxe Collector's editions were created, each of which includes a signed and numbered book in midnight cloth with a carbon foil block, the standard Splay deck, the deluxe gilded Splay deck with black edges and an inverted color tuck box, a Brad Fulton Giclée print, and a two-part presentation box.
Printed in Europe on photo papers from Italy and Sweden and wrapped in vintage cloths salvaged from a retired cloth maker in Germany, the Collector’s editions also feature pasteboard sheets from Kentucky and letterpress boxes from California. The book includes of 200 photographs by Brad Fulton, and has been lithographically printed with a hardbound, section sewn, foil block cover and spine, with debossed cover imagery.
